I've kept his blogsite for quite a long while... back when I was still in school, college that is, 'til the time I battled the woes of working to earn a living. But today, as I welcome 2010, I am officially signing off this blog. I am saying goodbye to past joys and tears. I am saying goodbye to the happiness and misfortunes. I am saying hello to my independence.
And so to all readers, if there were any, I thank you for spending your time getting to know me "inside-out".
Join me as I welcome 2010 and the new adventures I have yet to encounter as I go out of my comfort zone.

Three bowls of noodles, two packs of instant pansit canton, a can of tuna, reheated rice, a liter of distilled water, and a mini-cake from a very good friend... this so far, is the most memorable birthday I've had in my life.
I missed the greetings of some friends and acquaintances since my cellphone's battery went dead as early as 11AM. We lost electricity around noon and the battery power I have left was not enough to survive the rest of the day. No internet connection. No cash left and no ATMs since the entire metro lost electricity. The rain didn't seem to have any plans of stopping anytime soon... and we watched how flood rage inside the first of our three-floor house.
As darkness enveloped me in my room, I've come to realize that this day, though tragic, will never be forgotten.
Birthdays are more than the presents I've received. It's more than keeping me alive from dusk 'til dawn just to party. It's more than the abundance of food and drinks while having fun with friends. Birthdays are celebrations of LIFE.
Sad news on Ondoy's fury everywhere, no cash on hand, no extravagant food, no party, no internet, no cell phone, no electricity, but I am with the people I love. My family's complete. We were safe. I was able to listen to my baby's voice and he assured me he's also out of harm (although with an empty stomach). This is already a great gift from God.

Thanks to all who remembered my day and greeted me through SMS and Facebook...
... my online game-mates [mga ka-Mafia hehe]
... my Themes and Motifs family
... my Siemens family
... my fellow Thomasians
... my very special friends
... and of course my baby
if not for his thoughtfulness, I wouldn't have had this moment...

And so, to those who asked, YES, this is a "happy" birthday.
